Coconut Fertilizer Calculator
Per-palm coconut fertilizer planner — age-based doses up to 500:320:1200 g N-P₂O₅-K₂O per palm/year converted into urea, DAP and MOP for your whole orchard.
Two splits — one-third pre-monsoon, two-thirds post-monsoon — in a 1.8 m basin, forked in with husk or compost. The famous 1200 g K2O line is what fills copra; chloride actually helps this crop.
Indicative planning figures based on published research averages. Local soil tests, varieties and weather change actual requirements — confirm with your agronomist or extension officer.
Orchardists use the free Coconut Fertilizer Calculator to turn the per-palm recommendation into total urea, DAP and MOP for the whole block — young and bearing palms included — without a single hand calculation.
About Coconut Fertilizer Calculator
The classic CPCRI prescription — 500:320:1200 g per palm — makes coconut the only major crop whose potash dose dwarfs everything else, and one of the few where muriate's chloride is a benefit, not a risk. The calculator uses the age-laddered recommendation — 165:105:400 g N-P₂O₅-K₂O per palm/year (young (1–3 yr)); 500:320:1200 g N-P₂O₅-K₂O per palm/year (bearing palm) — multiplies it across your palm count, and converts the totals into urea (46% N), DAP (18-46-0) and MOP (0-0-60) quantities for the season.
How to use Coconut Fertilizer Calculator
- 1Enter how many palms you have and choose their age/bearing stage.
- 2Read the total urea, DAP and MOP for the year, plus the per-palm nutrient breakdown.
- 3Follow the split note for when and where to apply each dose.
Why use Coconut Fertilizer Calculator?

- ✓Whole-orchard totals — no per-tree mental math
- ✓Automatic conversion to urea, DAP and MOP with the DAP nitrogen credit handled
- ✓Free, instant and fully in-browser — works offline in the orchard
Frequently asked questions
How much fertilizer does a coconut palm need per year?+
Young (1–3 yr): 165 g N, 105 g P₂O₅ and 400 g K₂O per palm per year; Bearing palm: 500 g N, 320 g P₂O₅ and 1200 g K₂O per palm per year. Two splits — one-third pre-monsoon, two-thirds post-monsoon — in a 1.8 m basin, forked in with husk or compost.
Why is coconut's potassium dose so enormous?+
Every nut exports K in husk, shell, water and copra — a bearing palm removes more potassium than any equivalent crop. K also drives copra outturn and drought tolerance, hence 1,200 g K2O/palm/year.
Is MOP safe for coconut?+
Yes — coconut is chloride-loving; Cl⁻ actually improves copra yield. MOP is the recommended K source, applied in the basin in two monsoon-bracketing splits.
How do I convert the per-palm dose into urea, DAP and MOP?+
The tool multiplies the per-palm grams across your count, then sizes DAP to cover P₂O₅ (crediting its 18% N), urea for the remaining N, and MOP for K₂O — the same arithmetic an agronomist would do by hand.
Is this calculator free and private?+
Yes — free, no sign-up, and everything runs in your browser, so your orchard data never leaves the device and the tool works offline.
