MELD Score Calculator

The liver-transplant priority score from bilirubin, INR and creatinine — with the sodium update noted.

MELD score

MELD replaced waiting-time-based liver allocation in 2002 with sickest-first objectivity. Current US allocation uses MELD 3.0 (adds sodium, albumin, sex correction) — this classic version remains the literature baseline. Dialysis sets creatinine to 4 by convention. Allocation scores are transplant-committee territory; this is the arithmetic, not the listing.

Formula

MELD = 3.78×ln(bili) + 11.2×ln(INR) + 9.57×ln(Cr, capped 4) + 6.43; bounded 6–40
