Shipment KPI Dashboard
Log completed shipments and get live OTD%, average transit and variance — your lanes' real performance.
Promised = what was quoted at booking; actual = what happened. The slip average is the buffer your inventory planning should actually carry.

This tracker stores data locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded. It complements (not replaces) carrier track-and-trace: enter milestones from your carrier's notifications to keep one consolidated, private view across all providers.
Every logistics meeting has opinions about carrier performance; very few have a number. This dashboard produces four: on-time percentage, average actual transit, average slip against promise, and the count — computed live from completed shipments you log in thirty seconds each. It's the smallest possible KPI system that still changes decisions.
About Shipment KPI Dashboard
The slip metric (actual minus promised, averaged) is the quiet star: it's the number your safety-stock formula should consume. Carriers quote 22 days; your log says 25.4 with a 4-day average slip — then 25.4 is your planning transit and the slip distribution is your buffer, regardless of what any rate sheet promises. Promised dates are marketing; your log is data. Filter by exporting and slicing per lane or carrier (the fields exist for exactly that cut). Ten shipments per carrier per lane per quarter is enough to rank them honestly — and the ranking, presented at the QBR next to the rate comparison, is how 'cheapest carrier' conversations become 'cheapest reliable carrier' conversations.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as 'on time' — and who defines it?+
Define it once and apply it ruthlessly: delivered by the date promised at booking (or within a stated grace — many shops use +1 day ocean, same-day air). The definition matters less than its consistency, because the KPI's use is comparative: same rule across carriers, lanes and quarters, or the percentages can't be compared at all.
What's a realistic OTD% for ocean freight?+
Global schedule reliability has swung between ~30% (2021 chaos) and ~65–80% (calm periods) for vessel arrivals — and door-level OTD runs lower than vessel OTD because inland legs add their own slips. If your log shows 70%+ door-level on ocean, your lanes are healthy; below 50%, the slip average is the number to take to planning and procurement.
How is average slip different from average transit?+
Transit measures the lane; slip measures the promise. A carrier that quotes honestly (28 days, delivers 28) has zero slip and needs zero buffer despite long transit. One that quotes 22 and delivers 26 forces four days of safety stock you're paying to warehouse. Slip is the cost of optimistic quoting — and the KPI that exposes it.
How many shipments before the percentages are meaningful?+
Twenty per cut (lane/carrier/mode) gives stable percentages; five is anecdote. Log everything rather than a sample — selection bias (logging only the painful ones) is the classic way these dashboards lie. The thirty-second logging cost per shipment is the entire price of an honest number.
