About Student Account Ledger
Block-deposit accounting disputes are the most corrosive conflict in training — a shared running ledger (deposits, deductions per lesson, balance) prevents every one of them. This tracker structures the record for schools and independent CFIs: every entry dated and categorised, the patterns (frequency, phase advancement, balances, pipelines) visible at a glance, and the whole history exportable for school records or the student's own file. It's deliberately lighter than school-management suites — the discipline is the product, and discipline survives only at thirty seconds per entry.
How to use Student Account Ledger
- 1Log each event as it happens — lesson, transaction or booking.
- 2Review the pattern weekly: frequency, phases, balances, pipeline.
- 3Export when records are requested or students transition.
Why use Student Account Ledger?
- ✓Built for schools and independent CFIs
- ✓Makes the pattern visible: block-deposit accounting disputes are the most corrosive conflict in training
- ✓Thirty-second entries — the only discipline that survives a busy ramp
- ✓Live counts and recency tiles
- ✓CSV export for school records and training files
Frequently asked questions
How should flight schools handle student block deposits?+
With a transparent running ledger the student can see: each deposit dated, each lesson's deduction itemised (aircraft hours, instructor hours, fees), balance visible at all times — and statements at every deposit. Disputes arise from opacity, not arithmetic. Note that in several jurisdictions prepaid training funds carry consumer-protection obligations, and schools that fold deposits into operating cash discover this at the worst time. A clean ledger is both the trust instrument and the compliance record.
Does this replace official school training records?+
No — Part 141 records and instructor endorsement obligations (61.189's three-year record requirement) remain the official layer. This is the working analytics layer those records are too rigid to provide: patterns, recency, pipelines and balances at a glance. They should reconcile; this one answers questions in seconds.
Is this tool private — who can see my entries?+
Only you. Entries live in your browser's local storage and never leave your device, so there is no account, no cloud sync and no one else with access. Because the data is device-local, export a CSV backup before clearing browser data or switching computers.
What format does the export use and what reads it?+
A plain CSV with one row per entry and labelled column headers — the most portable format there is. Spreadsheets open it directly, most specialised software can map it on import, and a printed copy is perfectly legible to a human reviewer. Nothing proprietary means your training record is never trapped here.
