Air Waybill (AWB) Tracker
Track every active AWB through tender, uplift, connection, arrival and delivery — across all airlines.
Sources & references
- IATA — AWB structure and cargo handling milestones
- Airline cargo portals / handler availability notifications
This tracker stores data locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded. It complements (not replaces) carrier track-and-trace: enter milestones from your carrier's notifications to keep one consolidated, private view across all providers.
Air freight's whole value is speed, which makes its tracking problem ironic: a shipment that crosses three continents in 48 hours can then sit unnoticed in a destination shed for four days because nobody was watching the 'Available' status. This AWB board keeps every active air shipment — any airline, any routing — on one milestone view with the ETA front and centre.
About Air Waybill (AWB) Tracker
The eight statuses mirror the air journey's real checkpoints: tender (where 'booked' becomes physical), departure, the connection (where most delays are born), arrival, customs, availability and delivery. The 11-digit AWB number is your join key across airline portals, handler notifications and broker updates — one row here per AWB consolidates all three voices. Air-specific discipline: the gap between 'Arrived' and 'Available' belongs to the handler (breakdown and notification), but the gap between 'Available' and 'Delivered' belongs to you — and at airport storage rates (per kg per day) it's the most expensive idle time in your whole logistics operation. Treat 'Available' as an alarm, not a status.

Frequently asked questions
How do I read an AWB number?+
Three digits identify the airline (176 = Emirates, 020 = Lufthansa, 297 = China Airlines…), then eight digits identify the shipment, the last being a check digit (the seven before it, mod 7). The prefix tells you whose portal tracks it — useful when a forwarder's update names a flight but not the operating airline.
Where do most air freight delays actually happen?+
At connections and at destination handling — rarely in the air. A missed transfer at a hub adds 24–48 h (the next flight with space), and breakdown queues at busy import sheds add another day. That's why this board separates 'At connection' and the arrival-to-available gap: they're the two stages where chasing actually helps.
What's the difference between the flight ETA and cargo availability?+
Hours, sometimes a day: after touchdown the ULD must be unloaded, broken down, checked in and notified. Storage free time runs from availability, but delivery planning that assumes availability = landing time books trucks that wait. Track the ETA here, then update to 'Available' only on the handler's actual notification.
Can I track multiple airlines' shipments together?+
That's the point — the board is airline-agnostic. Each airline's portal shows its own AWBs beautifully and nothing else; your operation cares about everything arriving Thursday regardless of carrier. One consolidated view, updated from the notifications you already get, replaces the morning portal crawl.
