Documents are generated entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Templates follow common international practice; verify country-specific and contract-specific requirements (and any LC text) with your broker, bank or counsel before use.
The packing list answers the question the commercial invoice doesn't: what is physically inside each package. Customs uses it to target examinations (and to verify them — an exam that finds carton 23 not matching the list escalates instantly), consignees use it to receive against, and claims surveyors use it to establish what a damaged carton contained. This generator produces a customs-ready list with per-package contents, net/gross weights, dimensions and marks.
About Packing List Generator (Export)
The discipline that matters is agreement: package counts, weights and descriptions must reconcile exactly with the commercial invoice and the B/L's 'said to contain' figures. The triangle of invoice–packing list–transport document is the first thing both customs risk engines and LC document checkers compare, and a 480-versus-48 carton mismatch costs days even when it's an obvious typo. Weights deserve particular care: the gross weights here feed the VGM calculation (Method 2), the airline's chargeable weight, and the trucker's axle math. A packing list that's honest to the kilogram prevents three different downstream disputes — and per-package detail (rather than one lump total) is what lets a receiver sign for 43 of 44 cartons and your claim survive it.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a packing list and a commercial invoice?+
The invoice states the commercial transaction (who sold what to whom, at what price); the packing list states the physical shipment (what's in each package, how heavy, how big). Customs values from the invoice and inspects against the packing list. Prices appear only on the invoice; per-package weights and dimensions only on the list — the documents are siblings, not duplicates.
Do I need net AND gross weight per package?+
Best practice, and required by many regimes: net (goods only) supports duty calculations on weight-based tariffs and quota lines; gross (with packaging) drives freight charges, VGM and handling. The gap between them also sanity-checks the declaration — a 2 kg net in a 15 kg gross carton invites questions. List both per package line and in the totals.
What are 'marks and numbers' and do they still matter?+
The identification stenciled or labeled on packages — consignee code, destination, PO reference, package numbering, origin marking. In containerised freight they matter less for sorting but still legally: the B/L's marks must match the packing list's, exam officers match physical cartons against them, and 'MADE IN …' origin marking is a legal requirement at many destinations regardless of containerisation.
Should the packing list show prices?+
No — and that's a feature. The packing list travels to parties who shouldn't see pricing (warehouse crews, sometimes the end customer on triangulated trades), which is exactly why drop-shippers and traders send packing lists where invoices would leak margin. Keep values on the invoice; keep the packing list purely physical.
