The default band is 7–9 bar example operating band (set to your boiler's design and safety-valve pressure). Treat it as a sensible starting point — your own specification, regulator, equipment manual or product datasheet sets the authoritative limits, and you can read your true band straight off the worst case those documents allow. Edit the readings against whatever band applies to you.

Pressure falls when steam demand outruns the firing rate — sudden large loads, a fouled or undersized burner, low feedwater, or carryover from a too-high water level. It swings when controls hunt (a poorly tuned modulating burner) or when condensate return surges. Stable operation needs the firing rate to track load smoothly, correct water level, clean heat-transfer surfaces and good feedwater treatment. This dashboard reveals the pattern; diagnosis and any adjustment belong to the qualified boiler operator working within the boiler's certified controls.

Match the interval to the consequence and the rate of change: where an excursion spoils product or risks safety, log continuously (or as often as you can sample); where it is merely informative, daily or per-shift spot checks suffice. The in-range % and excursion count only mean something if your sampling is regular — sparse, irregular readings hide the excursions between them.
